what createacoin is, how a coin gets on it, and what the label is worth. written for someone deciding whether to buy, and for someone deciding whether to apply.

what this is

createacoin is a solana launchpad where coins are not launched permissionlessly. every coin is read by a person before it can launch, and the answers that person read are published on the coin page for anyone to check.

the product is the filter and the room attached to it: a coin page with a community, a pinned record of what was claimed at approval, and trading that works with or without this site.

why curation

permissionless launchpads make launching free, so the supply of coins is unlimited and almost all of it is noise. a buyer's real problem is not finding a coin, it is telling one apart from the thousand launched in the same hour.

a human gate is expensive and slow, which is the point: it is a cost that filters. what a reader gets is not a promise that a coin will go up, it is a floor, and a published set of answers to argue with.

what approval means

approval asserts three things and nothing else:

  • the thing described is real and can be checked
  • the applicant described their connection to it honestly
  • there is a plan, written in their own words

it is a floor, not a ranking, and never an endorsement. a memecoin whose honest answer is "this is a memecoin" can pass. a polished project that misrepresents who made it does not. nothing here says a coin is a good buy, and a curator's approval is not investment advice.

the four questions

every applicant answers four questions, the same four for every coin in a category, so applications can be compared against each other rather than against a mood. the answers are published verbatim in the coin's #strategy room at approval.

Art

  1. How was this made?
  2. What else have you made?
  3. You could sell prints or take commissions. What does a token let you and your collectors do that those don't?
  4. What is the first thing you will make and release after launch, and by when?

minimum 150 characters per answer.

Culture

  1. What is this, and where can we watch it happening?
  2. What is your connection to this?
  3. You could just keep posting. What does having a coin add?
  4. What will YOU do after launch, and by when?

minimum 150 characters per answer.

Tech

  1. What can someone use today, and what exactly happens when they try it?
  2. Who built this, and what did you personally write?
  3. What does the token do inside the product?
  4. What ships in the next 30 days that someone could verify?

minimum 150 characters per answer.

categories

every coin belongs to exactly one category, and the category decides what is checked. it is part of the signed approval, not just a label, so a coin approved as one thing cannot relist itself as another.

  • Art — original visual work with a coin attached.
  • Culture — a creator, a community, or a moment, with a coin attached.
  • Tech — shipped software with a coin attached.

how to apply

  1. connect a solana wallet and sign in. signing proves the wallet is yours and moves no funds.
  2. link an x account. one x account links to one wallet at a time. it is required to submit, never to browse or trade.
  3. pick a category, upload the work, write the story, answer the four questions.
  4. a person reads it. you get approved, rejected with a reason, or asked for changes you can make and resubmit.

rejection reasons are a fixed set, so a decision is legible rather than a mood: the thing does not exist, it is not yours to launch, there is no plan behind it, it is already submitted, it is filed under the wrong category, or it was misrepresented. only the last one blocks the artwork from being submitted again.

what you get

  • a coin page in the gallery, with the contract address once it is live
  • a community: #general, #announcements for managers, and #strategy holding the pinned record
  • rooms that can require holding the coin to post or to enter, which is what the token gates
  • roles you control: owner, manager, moderator

reading #general and #strategy is always open, including to people who hold nothing. the gate is on posting, not on looking.

fees

3.00% of every buy and sell while a coin is on the launch curve, 2.00% after it graduates. split like this:

  • the creator · 0.60%yours for as long as the coin trades, on the curve and after it graduates. it builds up against the coin and you claim it.
  • meteora · 0.60%a fixed 20% of every trading fee, taken by the bonding-curve protocol before anything is split. not ours to set or waive.
  • createacoin · 1.80%runs the review queue, the servers, the database and the rpc. this is the whole business model. there is no other revenue.

this is more than most launchpads charge. what it buys is a person reading every application and published answers you can check before you buy. whether that is worth the difference is your call, and you should make it knowing the number.

how curation is checkable

anyone can create a pool on meteora without us; that is how the protocol works and we do not claim otherwise. what is provable is which pools we created: a coin is curated by createacoin if and only if our published address signed the transaction that created its pool.

check the creation transaction, not the pool's current creator. creator rights are handed to the coin's creator during launch so their share of the fees does not depend on us.

what is live today

being straight about status is part of the product, so this section says what works and what does not.

  • applying, review, approval, coin pages and communities: live and real.
  • browsing and trading: coins listed here trade on-chain and can be bought anywhere that routes solana liquidity, with or without this site.
  • launching coins on-chain from the site itself: live.
  • network: solana mainnet.
